Seasons
The Seychelles fishing season with Blue Safari Fly Fishing is a year-round affair, but the prime times shift with the prevailing winds and the behavior of the fish. From October through to April, the Northwest season offers excellent conditions across most atolls, with calmer seas and abundant opportunities. This period is particularly good for targeting the elusive Indo-Pacific Permit in the Amirante Islands and the prolific Bonefish across the Alphonse Group. As the season progresses, the focus shifts to the outer atolls like Cosmoledo and Farquhar, renowned for their explosive Giant Trevally action. The Southeast season, from June to September, brings different wind patterns and can be excellent for specific atolls like Astove, which is considered the ultimate wading destination during this time. Providence Atoll, a boat-based operation, offers a high-density fishery throughout its season, which runs from October to mid-April, with a brief pause in December. Each destination within the Blue Safari portfolio offers a unique seasonal character. Cosmoledo Atoll, the 'GT Capital of the World,' is best from the end of November to April, when the red crab influence is minimized. Farquhar Atoll, a multi-species hotspot, is prime from October to early December and then again from February to late April. Astove Atoll, celebrated for its wading opportunities, shines from mid-January to the end of March. The Amirante Islands and Platte Island offer consistent fishing from October to April, with Platte Island also providing a more family-friendly experience alongside its flats fishing.
