Seasons

The fishing year at Long Pond Lodge kicks off with ice fishing from late December through March, targeting Northern Pike, Perch, Crappie, Lake Trout, Salmon, Walleye, and Smelt. As the ice recedes, spring arrives in mid-April, bringing the lodge's prime season. This period, extending through June, is exceptional for quantity across most species, with Smallmouth Bass being a particular highlight, along with excellent stream and river fishing for Brown, Brook, and Rainbow Trout, and Landlocked Salmon. Summer, from July through September, sees the "dog days" with Bass and Pike fishing slowing down, shifting focus to deep-water trolling and jigging for Lake Trout and Salmon, though Smallmouth Bass can still be found on deeper reefs. Fall, from late September through mid-November, is renowned for trophy-sized fish across all species, as they feed heavily for the coming winter. The season typically concludes in mid-November as water temperatures drop below 40 degrees.
