Seasons

The 4UR Ranch offers a premier fly-fishing experience from late spring through fall, with the prime season generally running from June through September. This period aligns with the most active hatches, including Stoneflies and Caddis in early to mid-June, followed by PMDs and Green Drakes in late June. July brings a continuation of Caddis and PMDs, along with Callibeatis and Grey Drakes. As summer progresses into August, terrestrial insects and hoppers become a significant part of the trout's diet, alongside midges and Caddis. September offers a late-season opportunity with midges, Blue Wing Olives, and terrestrials, providing excellent dry fly fishing as the weather cools and the landscape turns golden. The ranch's private tailwater on Goose Creek and access to the Rio Grande River ensure consistent opportunities throughout these months, with the "beat" system guaranteeing exclusive access to prime water.
