"fishingSeasonsNarrative": "My guiding year in the Catskills is dictated by the rhythm of the seasons and the incredible hatches that grace our world-renowned rivers. Spring begins with the tail end of winter midge hatches on Silver Creek and the lower Lost River, offering a serene start to the year for those seeking solitude. As the snowmelt subsides and water temperatures rise, the freestone rivers like the Big Wood and the Beaverkill come alive. April and May bring the first major mayfly hatches, with Hendricksons and March Browns often providing exciting dry-fly opportunities, especially on overcast, rainy days when water temperatures hit that sweet spot between 50° and 55°. The true magic unfolds in June and July with the arrival of the Salmonflies and Golden Stones on the Big Wood, followed by the prolific PMD and Trico hatches that dominate the summer months. August and September are prime time, with Trico spinner falls at dawn and hopper-dropper rigs in the afternoon heat, offering consistent action. Fall on Silver Creek is a spectacle, with Blue-Winged Olives and a second Trico hatch carrying the dry-fly fishing through October. This is also when big brown trout begin their pre-spawn migration from the reservoirs into the Lost River, making it an exceptional time for streamer and egg-pattern fishing. Winter offers a unique experience on Silver Creek and the lower Lost River, with midge fishing providing a peaceful, often uncrowded, way to enjoy the rivers year-round.",

All-day outings run March through October, with winter midge fishing available on lower sections for those seeking solitude.",
