Located in Hasvik, Finnmark, Big Fish Adventure has operated since 1977 as a dedicated saltwater fishing lodge serving the productive waters of the Barents Sea and surrounding fjords. The fishing year at Big Fish Adventure is a continuous pursuit of trophy-sized fish, with distinct periods offering unique advantages. From mid-February through April, the legendary skrei cod arrives in droves, making this the prime time for anglers targeting these massive 'big mamas.' While early spring can bring challenging weather, the sheer abundance and size of the cod make it a rewarding endeavor for the dedicated angler. As spring transitions into summer, May through July offers more stable weather and the surreal experience of fishing under the midnight sun. This extended daylight allows for maximum time on the water, pursuing not only cod but also feisty coalfish, formidable wolffish, and the elusive giant halibut that cruise the shallows post-spawn. Redfish are also in season during these months, adding to the diverse mixed-bag opportunities. Autumn, from August to October, ushers in the highly anticipated halibut season. This is the absolute prime time when these colossal flatfish are actively feeding before their winter spawning cycle. While the weather can become more unpredictable and days shorter, the chance of encountering a true monster halibut makes this period exceptionally attractive for serious anglers. The season extends to the end of October, offering a prolonged opportunity to target these giants.
