Seasons
The fishing season at Arluk Outfitters is a focused, high-quality experience centered entirely around the month of July. This is when the Main River and its tributaries are at their prime for both Atlantic Salmon and Brook Trout. Anglers can expect spectacular dry and wet fly fishing, with the remote location ensuring they have the pristine waters and abundant fish all to themselves. The short, intense season is designed for maximum impact, offering a true wilderness fishing adventure accessible only by helicopter, preserving the untouched nature of this Canadian Heritage River. While the primary fishing season is July, Arluk Outfitters also caters to hunting clients during the fall. The hunting season begins on the second Saturday of September and runs for five weeks, typically from mid-September to mid-October. This period is prime time for trophy moose, with excellent densities and a high shot opportunity rate due to the lodge's advantageous location bordering Gros Morne National Park. Hunters can choose from various scenarios, including boat travel, overnight tent camps, or hunting stands closer to the lodge, all supported by experienced guides and helicopter access for remote areas.
