While the lodge operates year-round, the prime fly-fishing season typically kicks off in late spring as the ice recedes and hatches begin. May and June are exceptional for early season action, with the Mother's Day Caddis hatch on the Henry's Fork being a legendary event that draws anglers from across the globe. This period offers excellent opportunities for large trout to feed aggressively before the heat of summer. As summer progresses into July and August, the focus shifts to the prolific hatches on the South Fork of the Snake and the Teton River. This is peak season for dry fly fishing, with prolific insect activity providing consistent action. Anglers can expect to target large rainbows and cutthroat trout in these pristine waters. The weather is generally stable, making for comfortable days on the water, though afternoon thunderstorms are not uncommon. Fall, from September through October, brings another spectacular phase. Anglers can still enjoy good dry fly fishing, but nymphing and streamer fishing become increasingly effective as trout prepare for winter.
